Yummy!
Look at what I found to eat at an outdoor food market in Beijing!
My selection:
This is my first long trip, and you (dear reader) and I have quite a packed itinerary: Seoul for a Korean language class, China/Tibet, Vietnam, then South Africa, overland from Namibia to Addis Ababa (Cape Town to Cairo clipped at the tails for quality over quantity in traveling), Sudan-if-I-can-get-the-visa, Egypt, Morocco, Carnival in Brazil, Manaus and a trip down the Amazon, Easter Island, Patagonia, and Argentina. Let's go!

Are they actually sea horses in the top photo? I just saw a nature programme on TV (when I should have been fast asleep in the wee small hours).... apparently although the female sea horse has the eggs, once impregnated by the male... HE carries the embryo (or whatever it's called in sea-horse terminology) and gives birth!
Isn't nature a truly mind blowing thing?
What makes one male or female in that case?
Hope you're looking after yourself well..... and when do you get to the Pandas? We want panda photos!!
D xx
Manolo can't believe you didn't try the rest, particularly the beetles. Where is the cultural immersion? After all, you had the balls to walk around the Great Wall of China and do that crazy rope thing. Eating strange insects and such should be a piece of cake (in a manner of speaking).
